Painting Trip to Southeast Coast of Fujian, 福建写生

Late November 2013, with some painting pals, I made my first ever painting trip to Fujian, a southeast coastal province of China... fascinating places across the Taiwan Strait

Few of on-the-spot sketches posted below

Yunshuiyao, Nanjing 南靖,云水谣镇(原名长教村)
Surrounded by a small Changjiao creek, Yunshuiyao is an tranquil village over 600 yrs old peacefully nested in a lush valley. It is well know with it's Tulou, a unique cylindrical style fort architecture constructed with wooden inner structure and clay in ancient times.
